Jewish Wedding Toasts

Just like the wedding speeches you will find that Jewish celebrate their weddings with a bit less more excitement than the Irish do. However the Jews will still jump around and shout when it comes to celebrating the union of the two who have gotten married. They usually raise them up on chairs and run around with them on their shoulders.

Jewish toasts however do not mean that the toasts should only be said at Jewish weddings alone. They can also be said in normal traditional weddings where there is not even a Jew in site and this also applies to Irish wedding toasts.

This toast must be short, sweet and to the point. Adding a little humor will obviously get people more interested in what you are saying and will keep them more entertained and interested to hear more on what you have to say.

Jewish Wedding Toasts

If you are nervous that you will slip up when giving your toast it would be better if you first practiced what you are going amongst friends and family. Also make sure you portray yourself more confident and try using some jokes as well as your body to describe some of what you are talking about this will keep all eyes on you and you will find that people will really enjoy your speech and not notice any mistakes even if do make any.

You can get most of this Jewish toast online and some you will have to pay for but the amount is not that much and some you will find are free. But nowadays it looks like most of the sites are asking for a little cash, but I say the toasts are still worth paying for because you probably do not have the skill of putting pen to paper.

Older Women's Bridal Dresses

Older women's bridal dresses are specially designed for women marrying later in life. It is important to buy a gown that is fashionable and just right for the bride.

Older women also have the option to choose formal, semiformal or designer wedding dresses. In general, they prefer a special occasion dress, social evening dress, or formal evening dress to wear for their weddings. Older women?s bridal dresses can be selected from the "Mother of the Bride" dress collections. These include long sleeve, single piece dresses and other formal attires. Two-piece mother of the bride gowns are an ideal option for older brides.

Silk and satin are popular fabrics used to make older women's bridal dresses. However, there are also mix fabrics that look equally good and are cheaper. Before purchasing, it is good to discuss the fabric with your dressmaker. Choosing an appropriate color is one of the most difficult tasks. For example, white or wedding white includes shades such as ivory, eggshell, diamond white, ecru, and candlelight. Even burgundy, blue and mauve colored fabrics may be used for making older women's bridal dresses.

Older Women's Bridal Dresses

Most older women wear semiformal dresses for their wedding. Formal ball gowns may even be worn for this occasion. Formal ball gowns are suitable for any age. These dresses have an additional advantage that they do not look like older women's attire. The best option for older brides is to use clothing that is tailor-made and appropriate for their figure and complexion. Trousers are favored by some; skirts with bolero jackets are also quite popular with older women.

Most department stores stock bridal wear suitable for older women. Older women's bridal dresses can easily be purchased through online shops also.

Wedding Speeches - The Mother of the Brides Speech

"Its your daughters big day, your little girl, the same little girl you have raised and loved for all these years is having the biggest day of her life and she has bestowed upon you the honor of making a mother of the brides speech at her wedding. What will you say in your speech, what should you include and what should you leave out?"

More and more mothers are being asked to preform a mother of the brides speech at their daughters wedding day. Whether its because you raised her as a single mother or dad has passed away or just doing the modern thing by being included in the wedding speeches, you are naturally thrilled to be asked to preform such a task, but also a little nervous (or maybe more than a little nervous!) about getting it right.

You want your mother of the brides speech to convey to your daughter just how you feel about her and how thrilled you are to see her walk down the aisle, but you don't want to overdo it and come off too smaltzy or embarrassing. You want to make sure you thank all the people you need to thank, while you try to hold it together emotionally.

Wedding Speeches - The Mother of the Brides Speech

Weddings are an extremely busy time for mothers of the bride, there is all the planning and coordinating that needs to take place, the last thing you want to be doing is spending hours agonizing over the details of your mother of the brides speech. I often recommend to mother's of the bride that they get themselves a professionally written guide that will take the pain, anxiety and time out of writing a mother of the brides speech. Using one of these guides can have you finishing up your speech within an hour, leaving you time to get on with other more important things for your daughters day.

If you would rather leave it up to the experts and save your self a lot of stress and time, then have a look at the following  Mother of the Brides Speech  it will help you put together the perfect  mother of the brides speech for your daughters wedding.

Hoping your daughters day is filled with joy and great memories!

How to Perform a Wedding Flawlessly, Even If it is Your First Time - Part 1

I can remember how frightened I was when I performed my very first wedding.  I was still in seminary and in my 20's and it was a small wedding in a home, but it seemed a daunting task.  The thoughts raced through my mind constantly as I prepared such as "What will I say?"  "What will I do?"  "What is the right order for everything?"  "What happens if I mess up?"  "Where can I find a wedding ceremony?"  "If I mess up their wedding will they still be my friends afterwards?"

That was 25 years ago, and I have performed weddings over 400 times since then and have "messed up" many times (in small ways), but I have never had anyone leave mad and have never been featured on "America's Funniest Videos."  Keep in mind that what is a large mistake in your mind, is often completely unnoticed by the crowd or even the couple since it was probably only an intention in your mind that you did not follow through on or a small word mix up, etc.

Let me give you the quick and easy way to perform a wedding flawlessly (OK semi-flawless).  It will at least increase your odds of doing a good job by a ton, even if it is your first time.  I am assuming that you have been asked to do this by friends or family or church members who have confidence in you and that you are legally certified to do it.  You probably have some public speaking experience already or you would not have been asked to perform the ceremony so I am not going to cover Public Speaking 101.  I am going to focus on the "mechanics" of performing the wedding ceremony.  This is something that I have rarely if ever seen anyone discuss.  I sure don't remember reading anything about it, but I wish I had 25 years ago.

How to Perform a Wedding Flawlessly, Even If it is Your First Time - Part 1

1.  Find a good basic wedding ceremony.  You can find this in many places.  Look through ministers manuals.  Find something you can use as a template.  You may be able to find some wedding ceremony templates by doing a search online.

2.  Sit down with the couple ahead of time and find out what they want included in their wedding.  I am finding that many couples are wanting "simple."  Write down their names correctly and ask them how to pronounce their names.  Write them down in such a way that you can see how to pronounce them.  Take notes in your meeting and get all the details.

3.  Find a good order of service.  Look at wedding programs.  They vary, but many have the same basic elements of the wedding ceremony and show who does what.  The basic elements are seating of the families / mothers, groom and groomsmen enter (there are variations), bridal party enters, bride enters, presentation of the bride, bride and groom at the front, message by minister, wedding vows, ring vows, unity candle (optional), pronouncement of marriage and kiss, blessing and prayer, presentation of couple, recessional, announcement about reception.

4.  Sit down with your wedding ceremony and order of service side by side to see the transitions for yourself.  Make yourself some note in the margins of your ceremony.

5.  Meet and discuss details ahead of time with the wedding planner or wedding coordinator if they have one.  Ask them their preferences.  They will be extremely helpful.  Find out how weddings are usually performed in that venue or wedding location.

6.  Sketch out a walk though of the entire ceremony on paper using bullet points.  If you are fortunate enough to have a skilled wedding coordinator, then you will only have to be responsible for the ceremony portion of the wedding.  The ceremony itself should only take about 12-15 minutes.

For more great information on how to perform weddings flawlessly even if if it your first time see part 2 of this article.  Part two of this article deals with some of the actual mechanics of organizing the ceremony and the tricks of leading it in front of a crowd.  By following the steps in this article you can be performing weddings like a pro in no time.

Wedding Speeches Father Of The Bride

"When my daughter announced she planned to marry the groom I thought I had better carry out some background checks. So I went to his local police station and asked if he was well behaved. The sergeant behind the desk was very reassuring. Apparently they never had any bother with him whenever he spent the night there."

Somehow you can get away with very corny jokes at a wedding; jokes that would fall very flat at any other venue. Perhaps it is that often half the crowd doesn't know the other half. Or perhaps it is that everybody is trying very hard to be polite, and make it a happy day for the bride and groom. But really, I think it's often more likely that most guests have already had "one too many" and will laugh at anything that's said, even a very modest attempt at humor.

The father of the bride traditionally has a special place at weddings. Most likely this is because he was usually expected to be the host and foot the bill for the reception in times past. Shades of another tradition in some cultures and older times of paying a dowry, and the daughter leaving home to live with the groom's family, I suppose. The bill is often spread around a little more widely between the families these days. But it is still a wrench for a father to see his beautiful daughter leave home to live with her new partner. It's the public "giving your daughter away" tradition that makes it even worse. Many a father of the bride has secretly quickly wiped away a tear or two at his daughter's wedding.

Wedding Speeches Father Of The Bride

This special place for the bride's father sometimes means he gets the role of master of ceremonies for his daughter's wedding, and must step in from time to time and say a few words to keep the occasion moving along. Sometimes this role goes to the best man, to another guest who is an able speaker, or even to a professional entertainer, if the budget stretches that far.

Whether or not he is the master of ceremonies, the father of the bride is usually expected to give a short speech at the reception. The pattern is fairly well established by tradition:

1. A few opening lines, perhaps with some humor to get everyone's attention.

2. Thanks to the guests for coming and to the supportive people behind the organization of the event.

3. Some comments about the day so far, such as flattering comments directed to the ladies.

4. A few personal comments about how it feels to be father of the bride.

5. A few affectionate words on the bride.

6. Perhaps some comment on how the romance started and blossomed into the marriage.

7. A welcome to the family for the groom.

8. Some comments on the couple's plans, a few words of wisdom and advice, and best wishes for their future together.

9. A toast (or two), to the couple and their future, and perhaps to mention absent relatives and friends.

10. A few closing lines, often as the host wishing everyone a pleasant time for the remainder of the festivities.

Putting together a successful speech comes easy to some, but it can be a big help to get a professionally prepared draft and checklist to work off. After all, giving a father of the bride wedding speech may only happen once or twice in the lives of most fathers. And there are few things worse than being told afterwards by the bride's mother that you completely forgot to mention Aunty Mildred's hard work icing the wedding cake!

Wedding Breakfast - What Is The Wedding Breakfast?

Even though the name tends to imply a morning meal, a wedding breakfast is far from what the word 'breakfast' is generally used for. The breakfast is, nonetheless, the most important occasion that follows a wedding. As the name suggests, it is a form of "breaking of a fast". In this case, it follows the period of fasting for the bride and the groom before the wedding. The breakfast is the first meal that breaks this fast following the wedding ceremony.

The reason why the Wedding Breakfast should be given paramount importance is quite evident from this. It is the most important meal for the bride and the groom in the sense that it is their first meal together as a lawfully wedded couple. Considering the significance of this part of a wedding ceremony, it is also quite understandable that the breakfast follows certain protocols of etiquette and traditional conventions.

Another important aspect of the Wedding Breakfast is that it is a family occasion in its truest sense. It is one occasion, where every member of the family, who has had at least some role in the wedding, is present. Moreover, the families of the bride and the groom also dine together for the first time, after the marital alliance has been established between them. It is, therefore an important that the Wedding Breakfast be organized properly so that everybody enjoys the breakfast with the sense of being together, rather than making it uncomfortable for the bridal party.

Wedding Breakfast - What Is The Wedding Breakfast?

The occasion of the breakfast ideally follows a number of rules. The seats are ideally divided into the "top table" and the "receiving line". The top table, facing the guests sitting along the receiving line, primarily consists of the families of the bride and the groom. The groom is ideally made to sit on the right side of the bride. Their respective families sit adjacent to each of them, the general layout being that the father sits on the right side of the mother. The chief bridesmaid and the best man sit in the corners.

An important aspect of the breakfast is the announcement of the three traditional toasts. The response to these toasts is normally done by the groom on the behalf of the bride, and then by the best man on behalf of the accompanying bridesmaids. The Toastmaster ensures that etiquette is followed properly during the Wedding Breakfast.

The Wedding Breakfast, in short, is the opening meal for a happily married life.
